Typical Volunteer Tasks

Disaster Services and Service to Armed Forces are the two most used by our volunteers in our Northern Arizona Chapter. Once you join, though, there are many different ways to volunteer and contribute. Here are four paths that most new volunteers find rewarding and get them involved quickly.

Disaster Services:
Disaster Action Team: Be part of a team that helps respond to provide 24-hour immediate support and assistance to individuals and families who have been impacted by a home fire or other local disaster.

Disaster Shelter Volunteer: Support the day-to-day activities within a shelter which may include working in reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information, or other vital areas within a shelter.

Service To Armed Forces:
Hero Care Network Caseworker: Ensure military families' needs are met when faced with an emergency.

Reconnection Workshop Adult Modules Facilitator: Provide Reconnection Workshop modules to military, veterans and their families in various community-based settings.
